Disk Filter System

Key Components of a Disk Filter System Some of the key components of the disk filter system include: Filter Discs: These discs are the heart of the system that are commonly made of metal, plastic, or fiberglass, and include a series of grooves on their surface. Central Shaft: On a hollow shaft, the discs are mounted and connected to a vacuum source, which allows the filtrate to pass through. Trough or Tank: Trough/tank holds the filtered fluid, and a consistent liquid-to-solids ratio is ensured. Valve/Backwash System: It is a system responsible for managing the flow of liquid in and out of the filter. Sectors and Sector Bags: These are used to collect the solid and the liquid that pass through. Center Barrel: To carry the filtrate out of the filter valve, a series of tubes forms the center barrel.
